Mycenae Local products

The agricultural tradition of Mycenae is known from the ancient times. Grain, olives, and grapes were the most important products that were cultivated in the surrounding area. Olive orchards were planted for the production of olive oil which was used in the food and the body for therapeutic and beauty purposes. Several varieties of grapes were also cultivated to produce nice wine as well as figs.

These products are common even today, in the new era. A great part of the local economy is also based on the art of pottery making. Near the town of Mycenae, there are interesting pottery workshops where local produce patterns of Mycenaean pottery.
