A strong earthquake of 5,4 in the Richter Scale woke up last night the inhabitants of Kyparissia and all Western Peloponnese in general. The earthquake happened at 1 o'clock after midnight and fortunately it didn't cause any damages. Earthquakes in this area are quite frequent and they are usually between 3-5 degrees in the Richter Scale. In fact, an earthquake of nearly 6 degrees that hit the area about 10 years ago made some old houses collapse, but had no victims.
