General information

Miron village Kyparissia: The village of Miron is located 1 km north of Kyparissia town. Being the smallest municipality, it consists of Miron and Alimaki. Both villages wield houses built of rocks of which only a few have been bought and furnished. In Miron you will find a Primary School and a parish with three churches, namely, the church of Prophet Ilias, the church of Virgin Mary and the church of the Saints Konstantinos and Eleni.

Located atop a scenic hill the church of Prophet Ilias, it offers visitors a breathtaking view of the lowlands. Celebrations are held in this church on the 20th of July where after mass and the blessing of the holy bread, visitors and residents are treated to Turkish delight or loukoumi, cold water, boiled goat, cheese and lots of wine. The Church of Saint Konstantinos and Eleni celebrates on the 21st of May where visitors are offered noshes by the residents.

The Archaeological Place of Peristeria, regarded as the best Archeological Place, is located just a few meters before Miron and Alimaki. It consists of one of the towns of Enneapolis of Nestoras thus, earning it the name of Mycenae of West Peloponnese.

If you follow the path located near the Peristeria, it will lead you to the gorge of Arcadinos River. Here you will find the homonymous fount. In Miron you will see two large ancient platens and three wells. One of the specialties of the region is the specially made olive-oil, which is easily available and a must buy for all visitors.
