There is no airport in Kalavryta. The closest are the airports of Athens and Patra. The airport of Athens receives domestic and international flights all year round, while the airport of Patra (Araxos) works only in summer and receives charter flights from abroad. From both cities, visitors can take the bus to Kalavryta.
If you prefer to drive to Kalavryta from Athens, you take the National Road from Athens to Patra. At the junction of Diakofto, just before Egio, you follow the signs to Kalavryta. The road trip from Athens to Kalavryta is 3 hours.
Buses from Kifissos KTEL Bus Station in Athens go daily to Kalavryta via Egio. You take the bus to Patra/Egio and in Egio you change for a bus to Kalavryta.
A tourist train, known as the cog train, runs from Diakofto to Zachlorou and Kalavryta. This train runs in the weekends and in National Holidays. The route is very scenic and this cog train is considered a historical attraction for the region.
