The first thematic Puppet Museum in Greece opened in Larisa, Thessaly, by a private initiative. Mrs Sofia Foutzopoulou, responsible for the Municipal Puppet Theatre, created this lovely and special place in the old Papas Windmill, Larisa. The museum includes dolls of the Municipal Puppet Theatre that have taken place in performances and have won awards in international competitions. Most of these dolls represent famous heroes from fairytales. The museum also organizes workshops where more than 400 children learn how to make a doll out of wood, clay or paper.
Address of the museum: Georgiadou street, 53, Larisa
Opening days: Weekends for the general public and weekdays for schools
