A small piece of sculpture from the Parthenon kept in a museum in Palermo, Sicily, for the past 200 years returned to Greece. Italian President Giorgio Napolitano, who is on an official visit to Greece, returned the 14-by-13-inch artifact, which is a foot from a sculpture of Artemis, goddess of the hunt. The piece originally stood above the entrance of the Parthenon as part of a 520-foot frieze that ran round the temple. According to Greek president Papoulias and since Greece is seeking the return of the Parthenon Marbles (from the British Museum), this gesture is very important and symbolic.
