Olympus among the 7 Wonders of Nature

Olympus, the highest mountain of Greece and the mythical residence of the ancient Greek gods, is the first and only Natural Monument that has passed in the second phase of the international and electronic vote for the 7 Wonders of Nature. This second voting will last till July 7th. 261 natural wonders have made it to the second phase (the first from each country), which will choose the 77 more popular candidacies. Apart from Olympus, the Greek candidatures also included Meteora, Santorini and the Fossil Forest of Lesvos. The final vote will be held in the years 2010 and the winners will be announced in 2011. The municipality of Larisa, a city very close to Mount Olympus, is calling all people to vote for Olympus.
