The two first diving parks in Greece are estimated to open in summer 2014, after a joint decision of the Greek Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Mercantile Marine. These first two diving parks will be created in the region of Pylos-Methoni, south western Peloponnese, and they will constitute the first marine archaeological places open for visit in Greece.

The first diving park is found at the islet Sapientza, just opposite Methoni, where there are ancient shipwrecks with columns from the temple of Herodes and the sculpted sarcophagus of Troy. The other diving park is found at the bay of Navarino in Pylos, where the tanker Irene Serenade sunk in 1980 and constitutes today one of largest shipwrecks in the world accessible to visitors.
