Olympus Festival 2023
The festival of Mount Olympus has changed throughout the years in order to become a staple in today’s event spaces, organizing various cultural events on Greece’s tallest and most historic mountain! Starting on Saturday, July 8th, and concluding on Saturday, September 2nd, it will yet again be ready to host happenings in Pieria, whereas this year’s events will all be in memory of Archaeology teacher and excavator Dimitris Pantermalis.
Enjoy a show in the Castle of Platamonas, featuring stunning views over the Thermaic Gulf, or take a walk around the sites and preserved archaeological parks of Dion, Pydna, and Livithra! Events also take place in the Ancient Theatre of Dion, the ancient Livithra, and the Byzantine Temple of the Assumption of the Virgin in Kontariotissa.
Each annual Olympus festival hosts Greek and International artists in the industries of theater and music, creating a large, devoted following that attends the fest at every chance! Namely, some of the most famous music acts that Olympus Festival has featured through the years are Nana Moushouri, Goran Bregovic, Sezaria Evora, Giorgos Dalaras, and Marinella, whereas plays by the National Theatre, the Karolos Koun Art Theatre, and the State Theatre of Northern Greece have also been hosted there! Moreover, since 2010, the Olympus Festival has collaborated time and time again with high-class international museums, such as the Louvre Museum and the Salvador Dali Foundation!
