Greek Festival 2014

Only four days are left for the official opening of the Greek Festival 2014, also known as the Athens-Epidaurus Festival, on June 1st. Like every year, many local and foreign productions will be hosted in various venues in Athens and Epidaurus, making once again this event the most important cultural festival in Greece. Venues include the magnificent Ancient Theatre and Little Theatre in Epidaurus, as well as the Herodeion Theatre in Athens, the Museum of Cycladic Art, Piraeus Port, French Institute of Greece, the church of Agios Nikolaos Ragavas in Plaka and many more.

Among the most important performances of the Greek Festival 2014 are the following:

June 7th-9th, Dada Masilo, Swan Lake
In her first appearance in Greece, the young South-African choreographer Dada Masilo presents this performance, combining classical ballet and African dance.

June 11th and 13th-15th, Greek National Opera, Don Giovanni by W.A. Mozart
This fantastic opera of Mozart is presented at the Theatre of Herodes Atticus (Herodeion).

June 24th-26th, Isabella Rosselini, Green Porno
The famous Hollywood actor Isabella Rosselini presents this fresh and humorous monologue on animal sexuality.

June 24th-25th, Fiona Shaw, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner
After her first performance in 2012 at the Little Theatre of Epidaurus, the Irish actress is returning to present the final form of the Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge.

July 10th, Remember me- A tribute to Melina Merkouri
The Greek singer Eleonora Zouganeli presents this musical tribute to the famous Greek actress Melina Merkouri at the Herodeion Theatre.

July 14th, Nana Mouskouri in concert, Happy Birthday Tour
A major concert at Herodeion Theatre is presented by the internationally-famous Greek signer, Nana Mouskouri.
