Cosmopolis Festival 2023

Cosmopolis is a yearly festival that started in 2000, mainly taking place in the Mehmet Ali Square and the Central Square of Kavala, the two most distinct spots of the town! It features artists and art workers and this year's festival will take place on several dates from the 25th of July until the 26th of August!

The town of Kavala will host various Greek artists, as well as artists from Turkey, Senegal, Bulgaria, Morocco, Cape Verde, and the neighboring Cyprus. Most concerts will be free of charge in order to bring the spirit of world music to a larger audience! Moreover, projects outside of music will also take place, like a visual artist competition and a tango composition contest, plus a sales bench with handheld items made from recycled ingredients will also be available!

This festival has featured local acts such as Lavrentis Machairitsas, Koza Mostra, Apurimac, Marina Satti, Dimitris Mistakidis, and Thrax Punks, plus world-renowned artists, including Goran Bregovic, The Rumjacks, and guitar maestro Rob Chapman! Plus, this year, some acts will showcase their works in the narrow streets of Kavala, as well as in some picturesque locations around the town, such as the Fortress’ entrance, Panagouda Park, and the Halil Bey mosque!
