Kalimera or Kalispera!
My name is Alexandra. Alexandra Maria to be exact. :)
I love Greece and the Greek islands not only for their breathtaking natural beauty. I am fond of Greek culture, customs and traditions.
I enjoy listening to the Greek music - for example to the songs from the islands called Nisiotika which are really amazing. I love Greek musicians and composers such as Konitopoulou, Parios, Eirini Chalkou, Theodorakis, Loizos, Vangelis, Akis Panou, and many others.
Especially the songs sung by Viky Moscholiou make me happy and nostalgic at the same time. My favourite one is "Den kleo gia tora".
And last but not least I am crazy about the Greek dances such as ikariotikos, tsifteteli, zeibekiko...and syrtaki danced by men.
I love Greeks and their way of life, I appreciate their proud character and their exceptional hospitality and friendliness.
A few yeras ago I started learning Greek and I am still studying hard. I adore small villages, where the people do not speak foreign languages and that is why I want to speak Greek as well as I can.
I too enjoy looking at all these amazing photos on Greeka. One can find plenty of excellent, creative and gifted photographers here.
I love reading articles on the Greek islands on Greeka as well. They help me to know Greece much better and to decide where to go.
I am really happy to be a member of this community created by wonderful people, foreigners and Greeks.
I love Greek cuisine, wine, olive oil, honey, bread, and sweets. And Mythos! ;)
I am fond of travelling, reading, writing, studying foreign languages, taking photos, dancing Greek dances...I love long walks, nature and the sea.
I admire Greek history, Alexander the Great, Perikles...And philosophy, of course... I love Greek architecture, as well... And art...Also the language. A Greek sentence sounds like a poem.
Every time I come back from Greece, I immediately start missing the blue sea (thalassa), blue sky...blue windows...blue doors...because there is a specific shade of blue that I love. A blue so bright that makes all your troubles go away: GREEK BLUE.
(Just look at the Greek flag!)
