Information about the Villages of Macedonia, in Greece but also information about villages in many locations of the region: Macedonia is one of the most interesting regions in Greece with a rich history and unique natural beauty. The largest town of Macedonia is Thessaloniki, which is also the second-largest town in Greece. Thessaloniki is a port town that expands around a gulf and it is located almost in the center of the prefecture of Macedonia.
South-east of Thessaloniki is the famous tourist place of Halkidiki with its amazing pine forests, idyllic beaches, and interesting sites. In Halkidiki, you can find both mountainous Macedonian villages and beach resorts, all providing a great view of the Aegean Sea and the lush nature.
However, Macedonia also has other towns that may attract fewer tourists than Thessaloniki and Halkidiki, but do not lack at all in beauty. Kavala with the lovely architecture, Kastoria with the amazing lake, Edessa with the giant waterfalls, Drama with the picturesque old town and Florina with the elegant mansions by the river are only a few of the towns worth to visit in Macedonia.
