Thessaloniki Xan Square

General information

Xan Square in Thessaloniki: Xan Square took its name from the Christian Brotherhood of the Youth of Thessaloniki (abbreviation for Xan in Greek) that is located there. This large and impressive building is located in the centre of the square, that is also surrounded by other Neoclassical buildings.

Closeby, there is the Archaeological Museum and the Royal Theatre of Thessaloniki. The place where the International Trade Fair is held is also located in Xan square. In the centre of the International Trade Fair, there is the impressive Tower of OTE (the Greek organization of telecommunications) from where the first television signal in Greece was broadcasted in the 1960s.
