The Cinema Festival of Thessaloniki is one of the most important cultural events in Greece. This year, the Thessaloniki Cinema Festival is held for the 49th year and continues to give a certain prestige to its town. The Festival will last for ten days, from November 14th to November 23rd, and the movies will be presented in the cinemas of the port area.
Many young film-makers will take part in the cinema competition and will give a new perspective of modern questions. The Greek program will include an Honore to Manos Zacharias for his whole work. Among the personbalities to attend the festival will be the Belgian film direstors Zan Pier and Lik Darden, the Oscar-nominated Argentinian music composer Gustavo Santaolagia and the Brazilian director Valter Sales.
