International Thessaloniki Book Fair 2014

The 11th International Book Fair of Thessaloniki will take place from May 8th to 11th, 2014, at the Helexpo Conference Center in the city center. This year, the honoree country is Israel and there will be 217 participations from publishing houses, foundations and institutions, among which are 14 participations from abroad. In particular, there will be 23 publishing houses from China, 3 from Turkey, 1 from Bosnia-Herzegovina, 1 from France and 1 from Indonesia.

An International Poetry Festival, a Festival of New Poets and a Comic Art Festival will take place in the framework of the book fair, as well as a tribute to the Cypriot poet Kostas Montis on the occasion of the 100 years since his birth and another tribute to the famous painter Domenicos Theotokopoulos (El Greco) for the 400 years since his death. There will also be open discussions on the future of the Greek literature, translation and Greek book promotion on international level.

Many important international literary figures and comic artists will attend Thessaloniki Book Fair 2014, while parallel events in the city will include movie projections, children events in the public libraries of the city, musical and theatre performances and also book promenades.
