Drawing its inspiration from Franz Kafka’s The Metamorphosis, the 2024 Dimitria Festival celebrates the transformative power of culture and aims to highlight Thessaloniki’s rich cultural heritage. Stretching between the 19th of September and the 1st of November, the Festival boasts a varied program including a range of art exhibitions, theatrical performances, concerts, dance shows, film screenings, and literary events, as well as a brand-new gastronomy section.
Among the highlights is an international short film festival, a tribute to the Italian guitarist Oscar Ghiglia, a concert by the renowned Greek artist Maria Farantouri, a recital of contemporary Japanese music, and three unique performances of Verdi’s La Traviata.
