The PhotoBiennale/20th International Photography Meeting is organized by the Thessaloniki Museum of Photography, funded by the Greek state in 1998. The PhotoBiennale is firmly situated amongst other European festivals of photography, namely Fotografia in Rome and PhotoEspana in Madrid, all running concurrently in the spring this year, from April-May 2008. The Meeting includes exhibitions, portfolio-reviews, award-shows, lectures, workshops, activities and events running parallel to the meeting.
For 2008, the exhibition program has time (chronos) as its central thematic core. Finally, during the PhotoBiennale and on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the funding of the Thessaloniki Museum of Photography, the exhibitions will be shown in 9 Greek cities (Alexandroupoli, Kavala, Drama, Xanthi, Kavala, Komotini, Patras, Volos, and Athens), as well as in 4 cities abroad – Kiev, Munich, Beirut, Sofia.
