Zante Jazz Festival 2009

This is the first time that a Jazz Festival will be held this year in Zakynthos Ionian and it is an effort of the local authorities not only to attract people on the island but also to continue the rich music tradition of Zakynthos. The festival will be hosted in the open theatre of Dermatoussa, in the municipality of Arkadion. The theatre is located close to Tragaki, a mountainous village of 11 km to the northwest of Zakynthos Town. It can fit up to 500 people and it is surrounded by lush greenery, including vast groves of olive oil trees. The Zante Jazz Festival will last for three days (July 10th-12th) and the audience will have the chance to attend every day three groups with different style each one, in a program that will last two and a half hours daily.
