Zakynthos Kalamaki beach

Information about Kalamaki beach

Kalamaki Zakynthos: Kalamaki is located 6 km south of Zakynthos town, at the end of the eastern side of the bay of Laganas. Kalamaki is a small and crowded resort with many families and water sports lovers. The area is part of the National Marine Park and a natural continuation of Laganas beach which is equally beautiful. Kalamaki is dominated by the impressive rock formations and at the centre of the sand beach are some nice tourist facilities. Apart from a cafe behind the beach, the area is pleasantly undeveloped with a perfect lush green area and charming atmosphere. The beach is located close to the airport.

Visited Kalamaki for the 4th time
This year I went to Kalamaki for the 4th time. I was with my husband and children and everytime I feel like it is my second home. The area is quiet and the hotels are built according to the traditional architecture. What is really funny is that due to the Sea Turtle protection, the hotels are not allowed to have windows in front of the sea. The turtle don't like the light. The sand there is really good and is perfect for the children. There are some really good restaurants but just a few bars. For more choice we were going to Laganas with is just a couple of kilometres west.
The area is really close to the airport so a trip from home is very easy.
I hope going there year after year and someday build myself a house there.
    I love it!
