The private Museum of Phonographs in Lefkada is placed in the town's main square, close to the old city. It was founded in 1980 by a private collector and contains some very interesting items including models of old phonographs, gramophones, and radios.

The museum also houses many decorative items, like old newspapers, old postcards, guns, swords, pieces of jewelry and coins, which generally date from 1880 to 1950.
Other exhibits that are worthy of a mention include photographs and the diary of poet Aristotelis Valaoritis, the Constitution of the Heptanese before their union with Greece, a barrel piano from Constantinople, Venetian banknotes, photos of Maria Callas (she sand in Lefkada Town Square in 1964) and Aristotle Onassis and a photo depicting Nidri in 1900.

How to get there

The Museum of Phonographs of Lefkada is located in Lefkada Town, a 13-minute walk away from the central bus station and 12 minutes from a parking lot.

Private transfers: We recommend using an online pre-booked Lefkada transfer service, which provides transfer by taxi, minibus, or private VIP car and arranging a pickup directly from Aktion Airport (in Preveza) or your hotel. There's also the option of arranging a pickup by a local driver directly at the following numbers: 0030 690 707 8138, 0030 26450 26555, or 0030 699 477 6364. Alternatively, you can book your taxi online.

Car rental: There's the option of renting a car in Lefkada and picking it up directly from Aktion Aiport (in Preveza) or your hotel. Using a rental car allows visitors to discover the Museum of Phonographs and many other places of interest in Lefkada at their own pace.

Public transport: The central bus station of the island is located at Lefkada Town. There are bus connections between this station and most areas on the island. Consider that time schedules might change according to the season. Check the official timetables here.
Tip: Since buses don't always stop at every scheduled stop of their itinerary, our advice to visitors is to inform the driver about their final destination so that he makes a stop there.
