The high mountains that abound in Lefkada are the sources for many waterfalls that cascade through the mountainous terrain and end up in the sea. One such gorgeous cascading waterfall is the Dimossari Waterfall on the outskirts of Nidri in Lefkada. It ends up in a gorge replete with white rocks.

During the summer season, when the temperature gets really hot, tourists come to the Dimossari Waterfalls to relieve themselves from the sweltering heat and many of them can be seen swimming in the crystal clear waters of the lakes which can be found among the rocky contours.

The trail to the waters along the silhouette of the pine trees is splendid. Close to Dimossari Waterfalls, there is the seaside village of Nidri. Public transport: The central bus station of the island is located at Lefkada Town. There are buses from Lefkada Town to Nydri during the day. Consider that time schedules might change according to the season. Check the official timetables here.
