Music in ruins

The Ministry of Culture confirmed yesterday that visitors will have the opportunity to view over 60 of Greece's archaeological sites including the most popular ones under the light of the August full moon next week. This event shall be held for the fifth consecutive year.
Prominent Greek composers and musicians shall stage free concerts at 57 of the 62 sites that shall remain open free of charge from 9:00 pm on August 12 to 1:00 am on August 13. Culture Minister Evangelos Venizelos said. “I invite everyone to make use of this opportunity. The August full moon will provide an attractive opportunity for all Greeks and foreign visitors to our country to experience the magic of our archaeological sites by moonlight”
Some of the sites you shall be able enjoy by moonlight include the Acropolis and the Roman Agora in Athens, Delos, Olympia, Dion and Vergina in Macedonia, ancient Corinth, Sounion and the Temple of Aphaia on Aegina. Performances by Maria Farandouri (Castle of St George, Kefalonia), Maria Dimitriadi (Halkida Castle), Savina Yiannatou (Roman Agora) and Aliki Kayialoglou (Delos) are sure to enthrall you.
