Frikes in Ithaca is located on the eastern coast, 20 kilometres from the island’s capital (Vathy), on the edge of a long narrow bay. The lovely coastal settlement of Frikes was founded (after the 16th century) by the inhabitants of the villages of Anogi and Stavros. Today, only a hundred residents permanently live in Frikes but the population is growing during the touristy season. A picturesque port is lying deep into the bay and is surrounded by the little village.
