General Description

Our weekly cruise to Parga and the islands of Sivota offers the great chance to discover beautiful places with fantastic waters at the mainland of Greece. Departing by boat from the port of Corfu Town, we have a unique view of the Old Town, the two impressive Venetian fortresses, the green peninsula of Kanoni and the Palace of Mon Repos, the summer residence of the former Greek royal family, where Prince Phillip the Duke of Edinburgh was born.

Heading to the south, we shall pass the port town of Igoumenitsa and the small fishing village of Plataria. We continue to sail towards Sivota, where the ship shall enter the breathtaking cave of Sivota. At this cave, under a lighthouse, is where the legendary Greek submarine Papanikolis was hiding during the Second World War. The boat does NOT stop at the town of Sivota.

After that, we approach the picturesque town of Parga, with old mansions built amphitheatrically around a port. Although Parga is found at the mainland coasts, it has a vivid island character. It also has interesting history, natural beauty and impressive waters. There, you will have free time to spend a joyful day in the town and the region. Next to the port is a nice beach where you can take a swim. Walk the narrow paved paths of the town, see the small tourist shops, have lunch at the many restaurants along the port and take the path up to the Venetian Castle.

The Castle of Parga stands on top of a rocky promontory next to the town. It is largely ruined today but offers a great view to the Ionian Sea and the beautiful town. From the Castle starts a paved path that leads to the large beach of Valtos, a fantastic organized beach with blue green waters.
Have in mind that from the port of Parga also departs a tourist train that goes to a small forest where you can visit a traditional stone windmill with folklore museum.

We depart from Parga in the afternoon. On the way back, we sail around the small islands of Sivota with the exotic waters. These islands also have historical importance as this is where a great naval battle between the Corcycians and the Corinthians took place in summer of 432 BC. Today many sunken ships from that battle still remain at the bottom of the sea.

Soon we arrive at the Blue Lagoon, a bay of fantastic natural beauty. The boat is anchoring close to the beach and you can swim at the exotic waters. The legend says that this bay used to be a shelter of pirates in the Middle Ages.
We return to Corfu in the evening.

Note:
- During the trip, you can enjoy the sun at the deck or stay inside for shade. There is also a bar that sells refreshments and snacks.
- You need to take with you: a swimming suit, towel, sun glasses, sun oil, hat, sunscreen, comfortable shoes or sandals.
