Corfu in Greece: Loved Mirtiotissa

I had the chance to visit Corfu last year and I really enjoyed it.
The capital is a pure marvel, very different of what you usually see and imagine of Greece. Because of the long Venetian occupation the architecture has been strongly influenced and you can thing you are in Naples.
I visited beautiful villages like Paleokastritsa and Pelekas and many, many fine beaches of which I can?t remember all the names.
I just remember the name of Mirtiotissa because it was my favourite one; it is known as a nudist beach.
I do not recommend anyone to go to the horrible Kavos which has been built only for tourists (English in particular); it is a succession of ugly bars with plastic chairs!

Because the island is quite big you will need a car; Corfu has some buses but it?s much easier to have your own car; you will be independent and you will discover many places which are unreachable by bus.
And don?t forget to take a sweater with you, Corfu is really chilly at nights. I hope you?ll have a wonderful time.

When you go to Corfu you understand why it?s such a popular island; the extreme beauty of its capital, its beautiful beaches and its Venetian architecture will charm you. The most impressive part of the island is surely its wonderful capital. I was really impressed by the richness of the island?s architecture which testifies about its glorious past. I have travelled around Greece for many years now and it is one of the pleasant towns.
You can pass so many hours in its small alleys and its beautiful streets, discovering the venetian castles, the Byzantine churches, the elegant buildings, the superb mansions, the imposing palaces and the beautiful monuments. You really feel like being in another place and time.
