Korea through its monuments is the theme of the Korean exhibition held at the Museum of Asian Arts in Corfu. The only museum of its kind in Greece is housed in Palace of Saint Michael and George, close to Spianada square, Corfu. Almost 30,000 people visit this museum annually.
The Museum of Asian Art is dedicated to art and artifacts from China, India and Japan and this exhibition from Korea is the first ever, displaying works from the 16th to the 18th centuries. The lighting in the museum beautifully complements the colors and the textures of the 26 works of art displayed. Among the items showcased were oriental fans which were astoundingly used as weapons, diaries, screens, poems and epigraphs.
