Mitsos Taverna, a traditional family-run beachside restaurant, is located in Nissaki on the northern side of Corfu. This is one of the oldest taverns on the island, set amidst a lovely location. The afternoon meals often stretch till late afternoon as the spectacular views of Nissaki Bay and the shimmering lights of Corfu Town come alive.
In the evening, this tavern transforms into a perfect place to relax over a glass of ouzo, an exciting cocktail, or a meal, while watching the scene on the beach at sunset or watching the cruise ships passing between Corfu and Albania. The tavern is owned by Agatha and Lakis. The cuisine is classic Greek and includes several Corfiot specialties.
There is also an interesting list of international dishes that combines many European flavors to satisfy even the fussiest guests. Hence, a typical lunch may include the traditional moussaka or seafood pasta. Although the list is small, the desserts are tasty and if you are not much of a dessert eater, you can go for the kumquat liqueur, the traditional product of Corfu made by steeping kumquat fruits.
