Archery, which is practiced as a competitive sport nowadays, is the art of using the bow and the arrow. Invented in the Paleolithic-Mesolithic period, archery was used for hunting purposes mainly in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. What’s more, many civilizations, such as the Greeks, the Koreans, the Indians, and the Persians used to have archers in their armies.

Today, archery is a pretty popular sport and is included in the Olympic Games. As for archery in Greece, you’ll find many archery centers both in the Greek mainland and the Greek islands!
