Category: Santorini S01 Volcano Hot Springs Thirassia

Hi, we are Chad and Tracy F., we are from Canada and we are 27 and 29 years old. We've been to 15 countries and in the spring of 2006 we went to Greece, in Santorini Island.
Our travel agency proposed we should go on a tour to the Volcano, the Hot Springs, and Thirassia and we thought it was a good idea, so we did. We left on 22/06 from an easy point to find, around 11:00 AM. on a sailing boat and weren’t delayed for any reason.
The trip was very comfortable with a good ambiance. The only bad thing was that we weren’t offered any food or drinks, and that it was very crowded.
A guide was included, explaining everything in English very clear and answering all of our questions. We have to say that the staff was very polite and professional.
We really liked the tour. We sailed to the Volcano and walked to the top of it. Then we sailed to Thirassia for lunch after swimming in the Hot Springs. The thing we enjoyed the most was the clear blue water and the beautiful scenery. The tour lasted for about 6 hours.
We’d rate the organization and quality with 8/10, the interest of the tour with 9/10 and the quality of it in comparison with other tours with 8/10 but we don’t think it would interest children or people of third age. Our only recommendation is smaller groups or more guides.
It was an authentic tour, the money was fine, and we would definitely recommend it to others.

Category: Mykonos M01 tour to Delos

Hi, I'm Oscar Reno Mendida I'm 31 years old and I'm from Spain. I've visited five countries and the spring of 2006 I went to Greece to Mykonos Island. I decided to take part in a tour to Delos Island, since it was proposed by our hotel. The departure point was very easy to find, and we weren't delayed for any reason. We went by a small ferry, received a warm welcome, and had a very comfortable trip, with a really good ambiance. It wasn't at all crowded, but I'd like to be offered some food or drinks during the trip and I should be aware to bring something to drink.
We had a guide that was included in the trip. The explanations were very clear in all the languages, English, French and German, and all of my questions were answered. I have to say that the staff was really professional and polite.
I really liked the tour. We walked through areas of the island that were populated at one time and told what each area was, how it was used and how it gained its name. The thing I enjoyed the most was the preservation of many ruins to date.
The tour lasted for 4 hours and I’d rate 10/10 the organization, the interest and the quality of this it. I’ve never been to others, but definitely this one was really good. I think third age people and children will find it very interesting. I certainly lived the experience and it wasn’t just a staged tour. I would recommend this to others, because also the value for money was good.

Category: Santorini S08 Volcano Thirassia Oia

Hello, I'm Katie and I'm English. I'm 19 years old, I've visited almost 10 other countries and this spring I went to Santorini Island in Greece.
I decided to go on a tour to the Volcano, Thirassia, the Hot Springs and Oia, because it was the least expensive and so suitable for my budget.
The departure point was exhausting, but easy to find. We received a warm welcome, and weren't delayed for any reason. We went by a small ferry and our trip was really comfortable. The ambiance of it was good and it was reasonably crowded. I just wish we were offered food or drinks during it.
A guide was included that talked in Greek and English clearly, answering all of our questions. Everybody of the staff was very helpful and polite.
I liked the tour very much. We swam with jelly fish and walked around on the Volcano. The only thing is that I would have liked to have been warned about the jelly fish before I came. The thing that impressed me the most was the beauty of the scenery. The whole tour lasted for about 6 hours.
I've attended similar tours in other countries, and I would rate this one with 7/10. The organization and quality with 9/10 and the interest of the tour with 7/10. I think children would find it interesting, but not the people of the third age. It was an authentic experience, with average money, and I would recommend it to others.

Category: Santorini S08 Volcano Thirassia Oia

We decided to go on this particular excursion as it was advertised on the island and the lady at the reception of our hotel proposed it as one of the top activities of Santorini and said it would surely be worth doing it. We found the departure point very easily; we received a very warm welcome. The lasted about six and a half hours. We visited the volcano, swam at the hot springs, walked all over Thirassia, ate at Thirassia, took pictures of Oia and finally returned back.
We enjoyed the whole tour of the island; the villages that were built on the hills were amazing! The staff was very helpful and professional and was willing to answer all our questions. Our guide gave us plenty of explanations and information on the sites we visited. The excursion was of particular interest to us. We would surely recommend it for other people of our age, and for elderly people as well, however, it would be a little tiring for a child. We had a very comfortable trip on the traditional boat that transported us to and from. What we liked more was that this excursion was far from being tourist-oriented, and as a, Greeks, this is really important! It enables the traveler to live an authentic experience, although we'd prefer it to have included more beaches in the tour. It's a good value for money, but being students, we think there should be special prices or discounts for certain groups of people such as students, elderly etc... The overall quality or the tour in comparison to others we have made in other countries was very good; we'd rate it with an 8/10.

Category: Santorini S08 Volcano Thirassia Oia

Hello, we are Nicole and Chris .R, we come from Australia and our ages are 32 and 37 years old. We have visited 5 other countries and now we're in Greece, on Santorini Island. We wanted to go and see the active Volcano, Thirasia and Oia cause Chris had done it previously, some years ago. At 11:30 AM, we left on a small ferry, to visit these places. The departure point was very easy to find, there was no delay and we received a warm welcome.
The trip was comfortable, but there were no food or drinks. We really enjoyed the ambiance during the trip which was very casual, a slow-good. Also it wasn't so crowded. The guide was included and the explanations were in English, French and Greek. We thought they were very clear and all of our questions were answered. Also the staff was very helpful and polite.
We liked the tour but they should maybe include a provided lunch or drink and make it better know about the 2 euro island entrance fee. The Volcano despite all these of course was very impressive!
The tour was more or less 6 hours and because we are experienced by previous tours in other countries we would rate this one with 8/10. The interest of the tour again 8/10 and the organization and quality another 8/10. We really don't think this tour would be found as interesting by children or third age people but we thought it was good. About the money, maybe it could be less expensive, but all in all it was really good.

Category: Santorini S02 Volcano Hot Springs

Hello, I am Terri Johnson, I'm from the US and I'm 41 years old. I have been to 15 countries.
Our hotel proposed we should go and see the active Volcano on the island and the Hot Springs and we thought it was a really good idea. So on At 11 AM, we departed from a very easy point to find, with no delay whatsoever, on a sail boat, to our destination.
The trip was very comfortable, but with no food or drinks. I found the atmosphere in general during the trip ok and also it wasn’t so crowded. The guide was not included in the price, but the rest of the staff was really helpful and polite.
I enjoyed the tour because we took a scenic boat ride, hiked on a volcano island and cruised over to the Hot Springs. The thing I enjoyed the most was hearing about the history of the island and how it came to be after many eruptions. It was hard to hear the tour guides on the island, but what I could hear was helpful.
The tour took us about 3 hours and having the experience from previous tours in other countries I would rate this one with 8/10. The interest of the tour 8/10 and the organization and quality again 8/10. I don't think this tour would interest children or third age people but I thought it was not at all staged, and really authentic. I would definitely recommend this tour to others, and one of the reasons is cause I think the money was pretty good. The only bad thing I could say about it is that I couldn't understand what was being said on the boat, for example instructions. Other than that it was a pretty good experience.

Category: Santorini S01 Volcano Hot Springs Thirassia

My name is Tony and I'm a 25 years old Australian. I have been to about 5 countries and I'm about to tell you about my visit to Santorini island.
The island was really good, and while I was there, I saw an ad about a tour to the Volcano of Santorini, the Hot Springs and Thirasia. So I decided to go.

The departure was at 10:30 AM at a very easy point to find. We left on time and started the day with a really warm welcome. We used a caique which is a traditional boat and sailed to our destination.
The trip was not crowded, in fact it was very comfortable and I enjoyed the ambiance of it, but we weren’t offered any food or drinks.
The tour included a guide who was explaining everything in Greek, French and English and I could say they spoke it pretty clear. All of our questions were answered of course, because the staff was extremely polite and professional.

We visited the volcano on the island, stopped for swimming at the Hot Springs and also went to another island called Thirasia where we had lunch. The passengers were dropped off at Oia. I enjoyed very much the swimming at the Hot Springs and I was very impressed by he craters of the active volcano.
The tour took us about 6 hours and as I've never been to similar tours I really enjoyed this. I would definitely recommend this tour to others, because of everything and also about the money that was pretty good.

Category: Mykonos M01 tour to Delos

I have visited more than 30 countries in my life. I chose this particular tour as it is known as one of the top activities of the island of Mykonos. At 11:00 a.m. we were at the tour’s departure point, which –by the way- was really easy to reach. We received a good and warm welcome, even though the admission desk was quite rude. The tour lasted about three and a half hours and we stayed at Delos for about one. We went on a small ferry, the trip was comfortable and I enjoyed the ambiance as the tour was not very crowded. There was a guide in the tour who took us through about half of the site, through ancient houses and sculptures, he gave us plenty of explanations and answered all our questions. All the information was very helpful, and not too much to learn in one afternoon. What I enjoyed more in this tour was the description of the small details that our guide pointed out, which we would have missed without him. All the staff was very helpful, polite and professional. I have attended similar tours and I think this one was much more authentic than other tours, such as Santorini and Knossos. The lack of restoration of Delos was particularly pleasing. I would surely recommend this tour to others and I think it would be of interest for children and third age people, too, even though I found it a little expensive - complete tour should always have student discounts. Here’s something that needs to be improved: Tour agencies when booking tickets need to do a better job informing the patrons of options for prices, what is needed for the duration of the tour e.t.c. However, my overall impression is very good; the tour was of particular interest. I’d rate the organization and quality of this tour in comparison to others with a 9/10.

Category: Mykonos M01 tour to Delos

Hello, my name is Matthew, I am from Alberta, Canada and I am 21 years old. I have visited 15 to 30 countries and this summer I decided to visit the Greek islands. I would like to tell you about my tour by a small ferry to Delos Island which I took from Mykonos Island. This tour is known as one of the top activities of the island and I personally needed the information for my school.

The date of the departure was May 12/06 at 11 AM. The departure point was very easy to find and we left right on time. We received a good and warm welcome and the trip was really comfortable, although no food or drinks were offered. It wasn’t very crowded but mostly because of the season, too early in the summer.

A guide was included in the price. The explanations which were only in English, were very clear and all of our questions were answered. It was a really well organized tour, and everybody, including the drivers and guides were really polite and professional.

I liked it as a tour because I saw many things, such as markets, houses, custom house, e.t.c. The thing I was most impressed about was the “trident” house, the lions, and the lack of restoration which in my opinion shows authenticity.

The tour took us 4 hours, and the guided tour time 1 ½ hour.

I have been to similar tours in other countries during previous holidays and if I had to rate this one in comparison with the others, I would have to say 7/10. About the organization and quality, I would say 6/10 and about the interest of the tour 7/10 because there was a lot of repetition between the tour and the guide book. I don’t think this tour would interest children or people of the third age.

My opinion about this tour is that it is an oriented “staged” excursion and the money is reasonable.

But beyond all these I saw new things and experienced another way of life.

Hi,

I would just like to thank you for arranging our holiday.

We both had a wonderful time during our holiday.
The hotels were excellent. The only problem we had was with the people
in the room upstairs from our room in Mykonos, but after a phone call to
the manager it was OK... They wanted to party all night with load music!!

Once again thanks for your assistance in arranging the hotels etc...

Best Regards
