Sykaminia village Lesvos: Sykaminia is a traditional mountainous village lying 46 km north west of the capital of Lesvos in Mytilene.The village is built at the north side of Lepetymnos hill amidst a verdurous landscape with fresh ravines offering an idyllic view to the sea. The village consists of some picturesque alleys and a beautiful square. Traditional houses with beautiful gardens adorn the whole area reaching the shores of Sykaminia.

Sykaminia is the birth town of the late well-known Greek novelist and academic, Stratis Mirivilis. Today his home is open to the public.Within a short distance of 3km is Skala Sikaminia, a picturesque port, ideal for fishing. The area hosts a small church built on a rock by the sea, the church of Panagia Gorgona.
