Lesvos Polichnitos

General information

Polichnitos village Lesvos: This tiny village lies 42 km west of Mytilene, the capital of Lesvos and its famous for its hot springs. Most of the houses and mansions in Polichnitos are made of heavy stones and in combination with the churches and the remains of the Castle, create an attractive and romantic setting.

The village is built amidst the enchanting landscape with imposing neoclassical buildings and paved alleys winding around the traditional houses. The last houses lie in front of the picturesque bay where fishing boats moor.

Visitors shall visit the Folklore Museum of Polichnitos that concentrates many interesting findings and agricultural tools from Lesvos. A few nice fish taverns are found along the waterfront. Accommodations, cafes, bars and taverns are available. The beach resort of the town is only a few km north and is called Skala Polichnitou.
