Popeye Diving Center in Thassos is based at the sandy beach of Astris, just next to Psili Ammos beach. Opened in 2007, this center provides training recreational scuba diving and technical diving. In particular, Popeye Diving Center offers the possibility to beginners and experienced divers to try 30 different dive points on the island of Thassos. Ten of these points are found at a distance of 5 min from Astris beach, riding the dive boat of the center.
The center is run by Stelios Chasparis, an experienced commercial diver (offshore diving) and instructor. Modern and secure new diving equipment is provided, while education programs include free diving, open water diving, advanced open water, dive master, first aid and more.
