The World of Ouzo Museum of Isidoros Arvanitis: Ouzo of Plomari Isidoros Arvanitis is among the most famous ouzo brands in Greece. The distillery is found just outside of Plomari village, in the midst of a magnificent olive grove and a few minutes away from the famous beach of Agios Isidoros. This distillery, which is in use since 1894, has created an interesting museum in order to show its long tradition of ouzo production and explain the ouzo distillery process.
During the tour, visitors will learn about the history of ouzo, the national drink of Greece, and will have the chance to witness the production process. They can see and touch the finest ingredients from the land of Lesvos that are used for ouzo production. They can see the bottling process and a ritual distillation process that takes place in 18 small handmade copper stills. At the museum, you can also see a large collection of artifacts and old distillery machines.
The main ingredients for the production of Ouzo Isidoros Arvanitis are aniseed produced by the distillery in their private estates, water from the local river of Sedountas and seeds from all over Greece. It is 100% distilled and exported to over 30 countries.
