The cheese Kalathaki of Lemnos received a very important recognition in the 2nd Festival of Milk and Cheese that took place in Athens, from 16th to 18th October. In particular, the cheese Kalathaki of Lemnos produced by the company M. M. Chrisafis took the golden award, collecting the highest degree out of hundreds of cheese from all over Greece.
With this recognition, Kalathaki is proven not only the most popular cheese in Lemnos, but it also proves its high quality and purity of ingredients. In fact, Kalathaki is a product of Protected Name of Origin for its fine ingredients, the right elaboration and the suitable time to mature. This award makes Lemnos proud for the quality of its products and agriculture.
