Lemnos Festival 2013

The first Lemnos Festival 2013 will include musical events with famous artists, meetings of young people on repatriation and business opportunities, business innovation awards, photography exhibition, art bazaars, seminars by selected musicians and even creative workshops for children. This festival will take place from August 13th to 14th and it is organized by the association Lemnos in Action in cooperation with the Municipality of Lemnos.

The aim of this festival is to establish an annual meeting for people who live in Lemnos and for people who originate from Lemnos but live permanently in other places. Also through this festival, the youth of the island will have the chance to get informed on business opportunities, so that they stay and face the large rate of unemployment in Lemnos. Events will take place in the yard of Myrina High School.

On August 13th-14h, 2013, various events will take place in the High School starting from 18:30 pm, including photo exhibition, art bazaar, fairy tale narration and seminars by selected musicians. During the seminar and meeting hours, volunteer educators will engage in creative workshops with children.

On both days of the festival, there will be a meeting-discussion of the youth from 20:00-21:30 on Return to Lemnos, Repatriation and Business Opportunities in the yard of the old General Senior School of Myrina. On August 13th, the first day of the festival, the 1st Awards for Business Ideas will be given, while local producers will display their products. That day at 22:00 pm, there will also be a musical concert at the High School yard with the Greek signers Nikos Portokaloglou, Isaias Matiampa, Myronas Stratis and a local group.

On August 14th, in the same location and hour, there will be an all-night party with DJs. Summer video clips and slide shows with childhood photos of the audience will also be screened on the wall.
