Dafni Village Ikaria: Dafni village is one of the most charming little villages that form the municipality of Evdilos. The localities of Dafni include smaller settlements, such as Steli (see picture), Dafni, Akamatra, Kossikia, Petropouli, and Plagia, extending in an area of lush vegetation and rare beauty. The village is located 50 km north of Agios Kyrikos, the capital of Ikaria.
All these settlements are ideal places to visit and stroll around the picturesque alleys with the traditional houses and churches. Its easy access and friendly locals ensure that a visit to Dafni village is not forgotten easily.
There is much to see in this village and the surrounding areas; from castles such as the Byzantine castle of Kossikia, built in the 10th century and offering panoramic views, to churches such as Agios Demetrios and Agios Georgios. If you happen to visit the village in the month of August, then do not forget to be part of the traditional feast that is held on the 6th August, near the church of Agios Giorgios. It is definitely one of the best experiences of your life.
