General information

Kardamila village Chios: Kardamila is located at 28 km north-west of Chios Town and is divided into two settlements. Kato and Pano Horio (Low and Upper Village) which is the older part of the village and spreads at the feet of a steep hill, in a region full of plane trees.

Some fine examples of the traditional architecture of the island are standing here, surrounded by narrow alleys and passages with stone arcades.

The other part of Kardamila is Kato Horio (Lower Village), also called Marmaro, where one will be able to admire the superb traditional mansions built of stone and decorated with flowers and plants. Each settlement has about 2,000 inhabitants.
