A strong undersea 5.6 Richter quake was felt in the northeast Aegean, off the isle of Psara and close to Chios yesterday morning. It was felt as far away as Athens. There were no reports of any injuries or damage. The epicenter of the quake was about 20 kilometers from both Chios and Psara.
The quake occurred shortly before 4:00 a.m. yesterday. Just after 9:00 a.m., followed two aftershocks, measuring 5 and 5.3 on the Richter scale respectively. The area is being monitored said seismologists.
