Traditional Dance Festival on Chios Island
From September 7 to September 8, the wonderful Chios island is going to host the second Festival of Traditional Dances. This unique festival will be organized thanks to the Association for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage of Chios “Dancing Chians” in cooperation with the non-profit organization “Plegma”.
The Festival of Traditional Dances aims to protect and preserve Chios’ rich cultural heritage. During this lovely festival, you will have the opportunity to admire traditional dance performances given by various traditional dance groups from different parts of Greece. Several seminars and guided tours, mainly to the northern and the southern part of Chios, will also be conducted for the dancers. Situated in the Aegean Sea, Chios is one of the largest islands in Greece and is widely known for the mastic trees that grow in there, to such an extent that it is also called “the mastic island”. If you have never tried mastic gum before, please do!
If you love traditional dances and beautiful islands, you should really visit Chios on September 7 and 8 and get into the festival’s amazing rhythms!
