Rhodes Local products

The wine is the most famous product of Rhodes. Due to the fertile soil and the constant sun, winemaking is a tradition in Rhodes since the antiquity. There are too many wineries on the island, Cair, and Emery, that produce fine wine labels, including the dry wines Ilios and Grand Maitre and the dry red wine, Chevalier de Rhodes. Many other small wineries are found around the island, particularly in Attaviros and Prophet Elias.

Among the other products of Rhodes are olive oil, dairy, vegetables (tomato) and fruits (watermelon, melon). Very high-quality is also the honey of Rhodes that is the base for a special, healthy dessert, melekouni. Aromatic plants are also abundant around the island.
