Stealing stones from Medieval Town
Posted by Greeka on 06 Apr 2009
With incredible audacity, two gypsy men, aged 56 and 24, had managed to take from various points in and out the town of Rhodes 35 stone onager shots of great historical and archaeological importance. The local police department, after taking into consideration depositions of residents, traced these two men and arrested them with the accuse of violation of the law for antiquities. Inside their van, the police found these 35 stones of 200 kilos each!
The accused gypsy men said that they lifted these excessively heavy stones with the help of a small tow track they had on their van. They also said that they needed these stones to make up a wall of protection outside their residence! The two men will defend themselves tomorrow at the office of the Trail Examiner of Rhodes.
