The village Laerma, Central Rhodes, is threatened by the fire that remains uncontrolled from Tuesday afternoon.
Despite the trials of the fire forces, one of the fire sheets passed the road and was yesterday heading to the village. The eldest residents and the children of the village were transported by buses to hotels and to the Town Hall of Lindos.
The fire that began on Tuesday afternoon at the village of Agios Isidoros, Rhodes, is estimated to have burned some thousand square meters of forests.
The trials for putting out the fire continue, while the fire forces of the island have been enforced by hook and ladder tracks and other fire fighter sent from Athens.
