Performances by the Concert Band

The Philarmoniki (Concert Band) of Rhodes, under the direction of their recently returned musical director, Maestro Themos Mexis, will be performing at four different churches from 12-15 April, 2011. Music, especially selected for the occassion of Holy Week, includes works by Albinoni, Beethoven, Mozart, Verdi and others. Taking part also are the Mixed Choir of Rhodes, under the direction of Mihali Kalaentzis, Natalie Eleftheriou, soprano, Thanasis Zaharopoulos, tenor, Yiannis Malliopoulos, contrabasso, and Despina Spanou, cello. Performance venues and dates are: Tuesday April 12th, at the Church of the Archangels, at Archangelos. Wednesday April 13th, at the Saint Gerasimos church, at Pylona. Thursday April 14th, at the Church of the Virgin Mary, Kremasti. Friday April 15th, at the Cathedral of Evangelismos, Mandraki. All performances begin at 20.30 and the entrance is free.
