Cycling and hiking tour in northern islands
General Description
This is a lovely tour across the forest region on the northern side of Rhodes island. We start our hike (3.7 km in total) along the river path of the Valley of Butterflies (Petaloudes), a path full of vegetation and trees, including orange, plane and maple trees. This is a relaxing and easy hike across a very beautiful region of the island. At the end of the hike, we stop to have a melekouni, which is a local sesame and honey sweet.
After that, we continue hiking through a beautiful forest of oak and cypress trees. After a while, we reach the chapel of Prophet Elias with a panoramic view to the west side of the island. Here we stop for a while to chat and have some fruits. After this short rest, we ride our bikes and go downhill until we reach and cross a thick forest of pine trees (6.5 km downhill and 5.4 km crosscountry).
Our final stop is another lovely chapel, where we will have a pic nick outdoors in the forest. This active day ends at the famous and beautiful beach of Tsambika where we can have a relaxing swim. This is a long beach partly organized with sunbeds and umbrellas and partly unorganized.

The duration of the tour also varies from 8 to 10 hours.
