The picturesque Patmos Port is located on the island’s eastern coast, right in Skala, the biggest and most densely-populated settlement on the island. It is about 4 kilometers from the historic Chora, the island’s capital town.

Situated in the northern Dodecanese, Patmos is connected with Athens (Piraeus), as well as with a number of other nearby islands, such as Rhodes, Kos, Kalymnos, Leros, Nisyros, Lipsi, Samos and Symi. Moreover, small ferry companies connect Patmos Port with Agathonisi and Arki.
The ferry companies that operate routes from Athens and other Greek islands to Patmos are Blue Star, Dodekanisos Seaways and ANE Kalymnou.

Public Buses

Public Buses are the most affordable way of moving around Patmos when traveling on a budget. The bus stop is located directly outside the port, and there are a few lines available, operating routes to Chora, Grikos and Kambos. Tickets can be purchased directly from the bus driver. Taxis

Though taxis are an expensive option compared to buses, they are a faster and more flexible alternative, especially since the distance between Skala and Chora is not too great. Car Rentals

Renting a car is one of the most convenient ways to move around the island with greater freedom and create your own itinerary without having to rely on buses or taxis. Having your own vehicle will allow you to explore the island at your own pace and unlock hidden gems you would not be able to access in any other way. It is also good to know that some hotels may also offer shuttle service to and from the port. To arrange a port transfer (if available), you should contact your accommodation prior to arrival.
