The Apocalypse into a play

Jul 26, 2011 — Jul 30, 2011 • Category: Events
For the first time, the locals and tourists in Patmos will have the chance to see a theatrical version of the Apocalypse in the historical site of the cave of the Apocalypse in Chora, the capital of the island. The theatrical team of the island, Techne, will perform the text of the Bible, which is closely associated to the island's history throughout the centuries. The demonstration will be held outside the Cave of the Apocalypse where the Evangelist John wrote down his vision. The play is directed by the German Barbara Hoffman and the stage designs have been made by Hans Hoffer, stage-designer and professor at the School of Fine Arts in Vienna. Some extracts of the play have been translated in four languages. This significant performance will take place from Tuesday, July 26th to Saturday, July 30th.
