Religious Music Festival 2009

A unique festival is taking place on Patmos in the end of summer. The island is a holy site for the Christians, as it is said that Apostle John wrote his Book of Revelation there and visitors can actually see the cave where God was supposed to dictate Apostle John the end of the world. With such a rich religious background, it is not surpring that a Religious Music Festival is being organized there. The festival is taking place in the small open theatre close to the site of Revelation and it is organized by the Municipality of Patmos. The Religious Music Festival, that first took place in 2001, hosts Greek and international ecclesiastical muic bands, orchestras and choirs. The religious sense of the festival perfectly matches the holy spirit of this Dodecanese island.
