About the local products of Lipsi island, Greece

Agriculture, fishing, cattle-breeding and tourism are the main economical sources of the inhabitants in Lipsi. Wine is largely produced in Lipsi and particularly the variety of the red semi-sweet wine. In summer, there is a wine festival in the village square with many attendants.

The wine of Lipsi is so famous that, during the Italian occupation of the Dodecanese islands (first half of the 20th century), it was sent to the Vatican to be used in the Holy Masses.

Another product of Lipsi is cheese, particularly the mitzithra cheese, made of local animals. The inhabitants also produce honey, fruits and vegetables. At the port, there are many taverns where you can enjoy the traditional delicacies of Lipsi.

Lipsi july 2015, Lientou is the closest beach to the town and the port of Lipsi, accessed within a 10-minute walk from the town centre. Being the most popular beach on the island With clean water and sandy shore, Lientou provides a nice place for families.
Lipsi july 2015, Katsadia is a narrow beach 3 km south of Lipsi town. Katsadia is best described as a small secluded cove, totally unspoilt with no sunbeds, umbrellas and tourist facilities. It can be easily reached on foot or follow the track road with your private vehicle. Next to Katsadia lie a couple of small coves, ideal spots for nudits.
