Leros Architecture

The architecture of Leros presents a high interest, mostly due to the numerous invaders who occupied the island and influenced its culture. The main architectural style that had a huge impact on the island is the neoclassicism in different forms which was developed in the largest settlements of Leros.

A plethora of these beautiful Neoclassical buildings can be found in the villages of Agia Marina, Platanos and Pandeli. Their rich diversity in color and style, some influenced by the local architecture with wooden balconies and no decorative features and other more elegant, make them distinguish among other houses.
